Australasia’s inaugural premier celebration of motorcycling, – – all bikes and all riders very welcome

Theme?
2023 will celebrate 120 years of Harley-Davidson motorcycles with similar celebrations planned for the USA
Organisers of Bike Fest Oz! 2023, the major motorcycle festival announced exclusively in the Tweed Valley Weekly and on Kingscliff Happenings last month, wish to invite local residents, community groups and business owners to a special information night to discuss plans for the event, scheduled for mid-July next year.
“Very few details have been finalized as yet,” said spokesman and Kingscliff resident Chris Beattie, “but we aim to attract motorcyclists of all ages and backgrounds from around Australia and New Zealand to celebrate motorcycling in all its forms in one of the most motorcycle-friendly regions in Australasia. We estimate that visitors to the event will occupy a lot of rental properties, apartments, hotels and camping facilities in and around the Tweed Coast, predominantly centred on Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita and Tweed Heads, and they will, of course, want to visit all of the area’s many great restaurants, cafes, pubs, markets and other tourism attractions and facilities while they’re here.
“So before we go fully public with our event plans, we really do want to invite commentary, questions and input from locals, especially businesses and community groups. And we’ve already reached out to the local council and Police and hope they’ll have time in their busy schedules for discussions soon, too, as the event begins to take shape,” said Chris.
The Bike Fest Oz! information night will be held at the Kingscliff Beach Hotel on Marine Parade, from 7:00 to 9pm on Monday night, June 20 and will include an official live-streamed first look at the spectacular official logo for Bike Fest Oz! 2023.
“I can’t give too much away at this stage, but I think everyone will really be knocked out by our logo, which we think sums up the spirit and themes of our first Festival perfectly,” explained Chris.
“And we hope to confirm details for some really big-name sponsors that have already come aboard, including the International Hot Rod Association Australia, which we’re already working with to put on a truly spectacular drag racing demonstration tentatively titled our Night of Nitro Fire at a venue yet to be identified. Again, can’t say too much, but we’re hopefully going to have fire-breathing 10,000hp Nitro Funny Cars and 1000hp Nitro Harley Drag Bikes actually running as part of the entertainment.
“Anyone who has ever felt the ground shake and the concussion from these incredible beasts will know that this alone will be an event not to be missed!
“But the primary aim of our information night is to lay out some of our plans for the Festival, and also to canvas local residents, community groups and business owners about various aspects of the event and also answer questions as openly and as completely as possible. We intend to plan the Festival to be as minimally disruptive as possible as far as local traffic and other activities goes, so happy to take on board any comments and ideas that help us achieve that.
“And we want the Information night to be fun, too, just like the Festival, so we’ll have an MC, fun door prizes and special displays to provide some entertainment. Numbers will be limited so we’d advise anyone interested to call the Kingscliff Beach Hotel on (02) 6674 1406 to ensure they at least have a table.
“People can also visit our website at: www.bikefestoz.com.au to register for regular info updates and keep informed on other developments as the Bike Fest Oz! 2023 approaches.”
Organisers are planning to host at least one other information evening at another venue, with confirmation likely in the next few weeks.
