Due to the tragic and untimely loss of one of our key Bike Fest Oz! family members, it is with a heavy heart that organisers of the inaugural BFO! 2023 have taken the decision to postpone the motorcycle festival, with an alternative date to be published once we have reviewed all options.
We lost Jack Beattie, 26, our enthusiastic videographer, mate, team player, bike enthusiast and son, in tragic circumstances on the Gold Coast on April 9. Given his key role in the event, and other circumstances surrounding his passing, we have reluctantly come to the decision to postpone this year’s inaugural festival, which was due to run on the Gold and Tweed Coasts from June 7 to 11.
Our decision was also based on our position that we believed that in order to provide the best possible experience for our many participants, we were left with little option given the impact and disruption Jack’s passing has had on the entire BFO! crew and operation.
We understand that many people have made plans to attend the festival from far and wide and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment that our decision may have caused. But we would still encourage people to think about coming to the area and experiencing the many fantastic attractions that it offers, in particular for motorcycle riders. And, of course, there is also all that is offered by attending the Cooly Rocks On music festival that runs over the same five days from June 7 to 11.
For those who have paid deposits on our various events and packages, we commit to providing full refunds and will be in touch with each of you shortly with more information and will make EFT transfers where applicable.
In the meantime, the Beattie family and BFO! team thanks you for your understanding and we will be in touch via the website, directly and via social media with an update at the appropriate time.
Vale Jack Christopher Des Beattie, aka Jack The Bloody Rippa 03/03/97 – 09/04/2023.
