With our inaugural Bike Fest Oz! motorcycle festival now just under three months away (June 7-11), we figured why not have an Official Warm Up trial run. And since two of our favourite local bands up here around the northern NSW rivers/Gold Coast region happened to be playing in the same area on the same weekend (April 22-23), the opportunity was simply too good to refuse!
According to BFO! promotor, Chris Beattie, our friends at the Taphouse Group, who run the Kingscliff Beach Hotel and the nearby Chinderah Tavern, not only have the internationally renowned Feramones group of great and famous original artists playing on Saturday night, April 22, at the Kingscliff Beach Hotel, they also have the very popular and hard rockin’ Fat Albert band playing on the Sunday at the Chindy Tavern just a couple of kays down the road.
“We’re really rapt to be able to confirm that the incredibly talented Feramones are going to headline our Bike Fest Oz! Warm Up on the Saturday night opposite Kingscliff Beach, but even better that Fat Albert is going to entertain bike-riding visitors with a ‘recovery session’ on the following Sunday afternoon right on the banks of the Tweed River,” said Chris.
“So our Warm Up is going to be a two-day event, with lots of bike-flavoured fun organized at both venues, so we’re encouraging anyone thinking of coming to our main event in June to come along to the BFO! Warm Up because we’ll have a special presentation about what’s going on over the five days of the June event, along with a lot of great door prizes, a fashion parade, pool comp, ride-in bike show and other fun stuff.

“Might even have a celebrity rider or two on hand to sign autographs etc.”
Proceeds raised over the weekend will go to our Official Charity, the Charlie Teo Foundation, plus the local Minjungbal Indigenous community, who will be showcasing their culture with some fun family activities and displays on the Saturday afternoon.
Official Warm Up activities will commence at the Kingscliff Beach Hotel from midday, Saturday April 22 and we hope to have a range of great bikes on display, including anyone who wants to bring along their classic, custom or just great looking or rare bikes for people to admire.
If you’re coming from out of town, we’d suggest you book an overnighter for the Saturday night so you can enjoy all that the local entertainment has to offer. Plus, visitors should set aside some time to get out and about on their bikes for a taste of the great riding that’s on offer around the spectacular and scenic border area!
See you all on April 22-23 and make sure you stay tuned to our Facebook page for more updates as the main event gets closer.
