What’s in a name (or more importantly, what’s in a slogan)? Well, lots as we’ve come to realise since we first started formulating plans for our inaugural Bike Fest Oz! 2023 celebration of All Things Motorcycling more than a year and a half ago. As far as timing for the first event went, we thought we would delay our launch until 2023, because it happened to coincide with the 120th birthday of Harley-Davidson, one of the oldest brands of motorcycles in the world. What better landmark event to launch our Festival than such a significant birthday of one of the most enduring motorcycling brands. Or not.

As it turns out, while Harley’s milestone is a great credit to the Motor Company and will be celebrated far and wide by the brand’s hardcore enthusiasts, Harley-Davidson is really just one of a whole host of different brands that make up the fantastic, diverse and eclectic collection of bikes that we all invest so much of our lives and passion in.
And so the team at Bike Fest Oz! have taken the decision to reinforce the original message, sentiment and intent of our festival by implementing a logo and slogan change in time for the start of our big year. Consequently, from this day forward, the inaugural Bike Fest Oz! 2023 will carry the slogan, “By ALL riders, for ALL bikes!”. We really believe this more accurately reflects the underlying vision we have for our Festival to be a celebration embracing all bikes spanning the entire alphabet, from Aprilias to Zundapps and the myriad of brands and types of bikes in between.
Hopefully, all of our participants in the inaugural Bike Fest Oz! 2023 will embrace the true spirit that we have always envisioned for the event and while we will be acknowledging and celebrating Harley-Davidson’s milestone next August, it definitely won’t be the dominant theme of the Festival as we have plenty of other activities, rides, launches and other things planned that will hopefully appeal to all riders.
So see y’all here when we head off on our Rolling Thunder Parade ride to Byron Bay on August 16, 2023! And that’s only going to be the start of the fun!
