Organisers of Bike Fest Oz! 2023, are delighted to confirm that there will be a few unique events launching specialist motorcycle books, as well as a BFO!-dedicated reality TV show to air on Youtube beginning soon. BFO – the full ugly story!, is the working title for the TV production and aims to go into all of the background and planning for next year’s Festival, showcasing some of the real characters and other players who will be crucial to making BFO! 2023 a raging success.
“I can’t say too much at this stage as far as specific books that will be launched at BFO! 2023,” said promotor Chris Beattie. “But I can confirm that my own autobiography, Live it Like Ya Stole It! is already well-advanced and it’s a warts ‘n’ all account of my life and times on two and four wheels, including the early days when I rode and partied with a particularly wild and notorious crew back in New Zealand and also here in Australia.
“I’ve been so lucky throughout my writing and publishing careers to have met, partied and hung out with some truly amazing characters, including world heavyweight boxing champions, politicians, writers, racers, confessed killers, brothel madams and some other particularly wild people, so I thought it was time I put it all down on paper while my feeble number of surviving brain cells are still sporadically working.
“Some of the stories, incidents, activities and characters I recount in the book might not reflect too well on its author, but in my defence a lot of it happened in my earlier formative years when I probably spent too much time on the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ and in some pretty questionable company.
“I like to think I’m a lot better behaved now.”
Live it Like Ya Stole It! will be officially launched at BFO! 2023 and Chris was hopeful some high-profile riders and other characters would be in attendance to celebrate its release.
“You could say I have had some ‘colourful’ mates and company over the years and I’m hoping one or two of them will be ‘free’ and ‘released’ in time to travel and attend the launch,” he laughed.
“Along with my son, Jack ‘The Bloody Rippa’ Beattie, who is a very accomplished and successful videographer, director and producer, we aim to produce a behind-the-scenes documentary-style Youtube TV show showcasing BFO! 2023, and given who we’ve already got in the BFO! team, I’m sure it will be entertaining.”
