Bike Fest Oz! organisers and promotors are already in talks with local authorities, councils, tourism groups — and police – to ensure our first event runs as smoothly as possible, said BFO! boss and prime instigator Chris Beattie.
“We reached out to a few people who will be critical to the success of our first BFO!,” reported Chris. “And I’m really encouraged by the reception we had at our first meeting as we outlined our preliminary plans for our big event. The attitude was very open, friendly, relaxed and positive and I’m looking forward to working with all stakeholders to make the initial BFO! a raging success!

“Police, in particular, were positive and open as far as how they would work with us to ensure all visitors – and locals – came away from BFO! 2023 looking forward to BFO! 2024 and beyond.
“As the event begins to take shape, we’ll be forming a BFO! Working Group to iron out as many of the details as possible to try and ensure everyone has a positive experience – and great memories – from BFO! 2023.
“We’re fortunate in being able to draw on a lot of local big event expertise and experience, with events like Blues Fest and Splendour in the Grass, along with Coolie Rocks On, run in the area every year.
“The attitude so far has been ‘how can we all work together to make this a success?’”, reported Chris. “Luckily there are a lot of locals who work on these events, either as paid staff or volunteers, and we’ve already had quite a few approach us and offer their services and invaluable advice.”
