For those wanting to get their planning started for attendance at the inaugural Bike Fest Oz! 2023, you should write the following dates on your fridge, in your diary or get in early with a BFO! tattoo!
Organisers have settled on BFO! 2023 kicking off on Wednesday, August 16 to Sunday, August 20, 2023 for five days of absolutely unforgettable fun, ‘n’ games on the Tweed and Gold Coasts, culminating with a big official party at a venue yet to be confirmed!
“Crucially, it’s during an off-peak tourist and holiday season, so will be great and very affordable as far as available accommodation and other options go,” said BFO! promotor, Chris Beattie.
“But I’d advise anyone planning on attending from interstate or overseas to hold off booking accommodation right now, as we’ll be announcing special room rates and other great features in the very near future via bikefestoz.com.au.
“We’ve already had talks with some of the bigger resorts and other accommodation businesses in the area and I’m confident we’ll have some pretty competitive options on offer specifically for BFO! visitors soon.”
Various activities are either already locked into the list of events, including a Night of Nitro with Top Fuel motorcycles and truly awesome 11,000hp nitro Funny Cars putting on ground-pounding, fire-breathing demonstrations courtesy of our great mates at IHRA Australia, or in planning. We’re also working on a massive BFO! Parade Run, possibly from Tweed Heads down to Byron Bay, as well as an official BFO! Poker Run from Kingscliff to the very impressive and popular Gold Coast Motor Museum at Upper Coomera.
And we’re sure being able to actually ride your bikes on the beach is going to be a big hit with visiting two-wheelers, ala Daytona Beach Bike Week!
Of course, there is going to be a motorcycle stunt show and also a ride-in custom and classic bike show, plus a Trade Alley so visitors can check out all the latest and greatest accessories and products on offer from the motorcycle industry. Helpful info sessions and product seminars will help educate owners and riders on some of the more exciting and interesting new gear on offer, too.
“We’re also hoping that a major name brand (that may, or may not be having a significant birthday next year …), will use BFO! 2023 to unveil some incredible new models – and maybe even have one of its celebrity ambassadors put in an appearance,” hinted Chris.
“Can’t say too much at this stage,” he added, “But if early indications are anything to go by, I think BFO! visitors are in for a couple of ‘big’ surprises next year!”
